I started Ava Lee Artistry at the age of 23. I was a new mom trying to finish my business management studies. Trying to juggle it all I started painting again and that’s when my career path took a different turn.
I so badly wanted to learn watercolour but really couldn’t find anyone to teach me. I sat for a few weeks teaching myself the medium and saw a great business opportunity.
Watercolour was a very unappreciated medium and the new modern techniques were not taught here.
So decided to open the first studio to solely focus on watercolour.
From teaching at home to finally opening my own studio in Fourways it’s really been well received.
I soon realized that being self-taught gave me the skills to teach those who were too scared to pick up a paintbrush.
My studio became a safe haven to learn without judgment.
Ava Lee Artistry isn’t just a space for art class it’s a space where friendships have formed. Where the days stress melt away and clients leave lighter and happier.
We now offer our space to other artists with the same passion for their preferred medium to teach. Working under the same roof clients have a few options of mediums.
From kids classes to adult classes, year-end functions, parties, and workshops we do it all.
