Welcome to Ava Lee Artistry—where creativity feels calm, skill-led, and genuinely welcoming. We’re a Johannesburg-based studio and creative community, offering weekly art classes, kids’ classes and holiday workshops, and pop-up art workshops hosted across South Africa.


We collaborate with talented local artists and passionate instructors across a range of mediums—from watercolour and mixed media to illustration and beyond—so every session feels fresh, inspiring, and thoughtfully guided.


Whether you want to commit to your art journey or simply try something new, you can join a class, book a private workshop, plan an art party (birthdays, showers, or “just because”), arrange a team-building experience, or invite us in for live painting at events and markets.

The Heart of Ava Lee Artistry Carmen Graf

Ava Lee Artistry started as a passion and turned into a very successful business. With watercolour as the main medium, there are many other mediums to choose from. Ava Lee Artistry is a safe non-judgmental place to get in touch with your creative side. We pride ourselves in creating an art community where everyone is welcome. From teaching kids to adults to creating lovely workshop experiences Ava Lee Artistry does it all.

Art starter packs and retail are also available to purchase. And why stop there? You can support your local watercolourist by purchasing commissions and art pieces on display.
